27th Annual Charles Taylor Holiday Dinner Set for Saturday December 21

ASHEVILLE – The 27th annual Charles Taylor Holiday Dinner will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday December 21 at the Expo Center at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Asheville. The popular dinner is one of the largest and longest-running political dinners in North Carolina. The dinner celebrates Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the last two holidays at the end of the year.

Charles Taylor, the longest serving Republican Congressman in Western North Carolina history, and his family have been hosting the holiday dinner for almost three decades. The dinner helps Western North Carolina residents to hear from national speakers, as well as see and meet federal, state and local candidates.

The dinner also presents an American Eagle award to individuals and businesses that have contributed leadership to improve our district. Past speakers have included Vice-Presidents, Speakers of the House, Republican Presidential nominees and many other state and nationally known individuals.

Tickets for the dinner are the same as last year, $65 per person.

Checks should be made out to “Charles Taylor Holiday Dinner” and mailed to: Charles Taylor, P.O. Box 7587, Asheville, NC 28802. For more information please contact Trish Smothers at (828) 243-2187 or tasmothers@yahoo.com.

We look forward to seeing you on the 21st of December.

Sincerely,

Charles H. Taylor

Sidney Powell is a former federal prosecutor in three districts across the country for nine United States Attorneys for both political parties. For more than 20 years, she has represented individuals, corporations, and governments in federal appeals in complex commercial litigation. She has practiced law, primarily in the Fifth Federal Circuit for decades. She has been lead counsel in more than 500 federal appeals—350 of them as an Assistant United States Attorney and Appellate Section Chief in the Western and Northern Districts of Texas. She is a past president of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit, and a member of the American Law Institute. It was from her experience in several of her cases that she felt compelled to write and self-publish LICENSED TO LIE: Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice after seeing a core group of federal prosecutors break all the rules, make up crimes, hide evidence, and send innocent people to prison. The book–a 5-star nonfiction national bestseller—reads like a legal thriller, but it names the prosecutors who then rose to positions of great power and the judges who turned a blind eye to their abuses of unfettered power. She continues to write articles on government misconduct and prosecutorial misconduct for the Daily Caller, the Observer, the Hill, Fox News, and other outlets, and she appears frequently on multiple television stations as a legal commentator.

She is currently lead counsel for General Michael Flynn, the President’s former national security adviser, for whom she has already dramatically changed the course of history and exposed the government’s misconduct.

She’s an NC native and a double graduate of UNC.
Her book “License to Kill” will be on sale the night of the dinner. Paperback 20.00 and Hardcopy 40 dollars.
