First time attendee at the Buncombe County Precinct Meetings & Convention Business? Here are some short explanations:
The annual precinct meetings take place at 9:00 a.m. prior to the March 8th convention. There are two orders of business for those meetings: 1) Delegates & Alternates: Electing county convention delegates & alternates to participate in the county convention that follows, and nominating delegates and alternates for district and state conventions. 2) Electing precinct officers. These include Precinct Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary.
Following a short break, the County Convention will begin at 9:30. Being an odd-numbered year we will elect new GOP Party officials (Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, etc). You will have an opportunity to hear your elected officials speak: Congressman Edwards, and State Senator Daniel.
